ABOUT THE BAND |
|||
Let me introduce to you a very special Motown-sounding group of musicians. They are “The New Sensational Sounds of Motown,” and what a band!! This all-male show band consists of the hardest-working men to hit a stage in a long time.
Our drummer, Scott Moody, came to us with a country music background, but man, did he ever change his beat! He will start your feet tapping and you won’t stop until the show is over. Our bassist, Stephen Spivey , holds down the low end with solid precision keeping the groove rooted and soulful. Lead guitarist, Harry Hopkins, will dazzle you with his fret work, recreating classic licks you know and love. We have added two keyboard players to really bring “the right stuff” to our show. Jason Fuller, better known as our “ten-fingered wild one”, can play anything on the ivories from satiny strings for our Motown tunes to bluesy honky-tonk Ray Charles style. Our second ivory tickler, Dan Roth, provides lush, harmonic string arrangements and dynamic horn sounds which really fattens up the band's brass section. Of course, the show wouldn’t be complete without our lead singer, Mr. Henry Sanders, better known as “MR. MOTOWN,” whose voice will have you thinking you’re listening to the original artists themselves! Listen carefully. You’re sure to hear a Levi Stubbs of the Four Tops singing “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch,” as well as Wilson Pickett’s “Mustang Sally.” Put them all together and you have one of the Southeast’s most energetic and talented classic Motown shows available for your special occasions. The band presents to you a show that is second-to-none in appearance, professionalism, sound, and most of all, the SONGS! Their specialty is classic Motown music, but they offer so much more. For example, they throw in some “Brick House”, some real sand-slingin’ beach music, some 60’s Drifters, a dynamite Disco encore, plus many more surprises. As part of their high-energy, audience-participation policy, the band will have you forming a train around the room faster than you can say “choo-choo.” And when “MR. MOTOWN” sings “Just My Imagination” you’ll want to fall in love all over again. By the time you experience the complete show presented by “The New Sensational Sounds of Motown,” you have my personal guarantee you will have kicked your shoes off, your jackets and ties will be cast to the wind, and you will be looking for the closest shower you can find. Although, having attended every show for the last 16 years, I must admit, you will look like you just stepped out of the shower - clothes and all!! Just a few of the favorites offered for your dancing pleasure include such greats as: “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”, “My Girl”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “Superstition”, “Stand By Me” (coupled with “Cupid” and “Chain Gang”) and, of course, a “TWIST” medley that will really get you moving. The band also performs some old standard favorites: “Sweet Soul Music/Soul Man/Knock On Wood,” “With This Ring,” “I Love Beach Music,” “(I Love You) More Today Than Yesterday,” “Carolina Girls,” and many many more. “MR. MOTOWN” also takes you back in time with a couple of songs from the late, great Lou Rawls, as well as getting you in the groove with some soulful tunes by the late-great “Godfather of Soul,” Mr. James Brown. The responses to our shows are outstanding. The band is very appreciative of the praises they receive, and as you’ll see for yourself, they strive diligently to make sure that each and every one of you walk away feeling as if you have truly been to the “Party of the Year!” So “Get Ready” to experience “The New Sensational Sounds of Motown”!! As manager and coordinator of the band, I promise you will dance the night away and leave screaming for more - it happens every time. It has been said by many that we “Don’t play ONE song that you CAN’T DANCE TO.” The band looks forward to making your event the “Celebration” of your year. I invite you to come out and experience “The New Sensational Sounds of Motown” for yourself. You'll be glad you did! |
